Colmenar is located in a rich area of Axarquía, in the heart of the mountains, hence is also known as Capital of the Montes de Malaga.

Colmenar is a prosperous village because of its fertile soil, which you experience once you head out the village. Besides that, it is famous for the incomparable sausages and cold meat. In December Colmenar celebrates the "Fiesta del Mosto y la Chacina", where you can try tasty must of grapes and dried meat made of pork.

You will need only 25 minutes to reach Colmenar from the Málaga airport and 50 minutes from Granada.
