Thursday 14 April, the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic will be 80 years ago. That April 14, 1931, two days after the municipal elections, the Republican victory was a fact in the main Spanish cities and the Spanish desire to give new direction to the country. Before, King Alfonso XIII decided to leave Spain and make way for a new form of government which was more progressive and liberal and which was in force until April 1, 1939, when the Spanish Civil War ended.
In Axalingua we like to remember this important date in the contemporary history of Spain with an exhibition of Republicans posters published during the civil war, between 1936 - 1938 and graphically representing such a tragic moment for the Spanish people.
Exhibition "Carteles republicanos en la Guerra Civil Española" in Axalingua Language Center till April 15.
