The partition between Europe and Africa and the point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea meet, has been coveted over the centuries by numerous cultures even before history was there. The diversity of landscapes and landforms create a variety of forms, ranging from the warm Guadalquivir valley, to the lush hills of the mid-mountain range, where an inner landscape can be discovered and certainly can be found in the village of Colmenar.
Located in the east of Malaga, the region of Axarquia offers one of the most varied geography from the Mediterranean regions. Bordered on its entire length by the sea, it extends inland between mountains and plains, reaching its limits in the high peaks of mountains such as the Camarolos, Jobo or Montes de Malaga. Fairs and festivals acquired in each of the villages in the Axarquia characteristics, rooted in tradition.
